LAND SPEED RECORD ATTEMPT BONNEVILLE 2011

In August 2011 Team Stray dogs (a UK/USA team) are returning to Bonneville to set a land speed record for Motor cycles.

Our goal is to beat the APSF 1350 record which currently stands at 210.mph

We also in tend to run fast enough to get in to the prestigious 200mph Club (along with other land speed luminaries such as Donald Campbell, Andy Green, Richard Noble, Art Arfons to name but a few). In order to do this we have to run a 2 attempt average of 215mph

Two years ago whilst we ran faster than the record 8 times we failed to do that in the right part of the track. Last year we went even faster but suffered a catastophic engine failure at 220 mph but lived to tell the tale.  We know what the problems were and this time we’ll be in a position to put this right.

We will be using this much Modified 2003 Nitrous injected Suzuki Hayabusa which has already run in excess of both these records and we will be raising money for Hillside Special school
